Fiction Friday: The Barn

She and her cousins used to build forts, with stacks of hay, and played cowboys and Indians.
She was 10. It was her favorite place to play.
Now weeds threatened to over take it. Rotting wood was having difficulty supporting it.
Today the new owners will tear it down and built for the future.
Today was her 95 birthday. It was time for her to close her eyes and move on to the next phase of existence.
Like old friends, she and the barn would move on together.
