Friday Fictioneers: Love
Her mother told her to stay away from the water. She was not to go near it, not even get in a bathtub.
As an adult, she heard the Calling.
Just her toes, she’d only put her toes in. Soon she was standing knee deep. She was unable to resist the urge; she dove in.
The sensation, the glory, the freedom of spirit. For the first time in her life she felt alive.
She suddenly understood all her mother gave up to be with her father, such love.
Eventually, she found the love of her life and never returned to land.
The End

The Calling was lovely.
Oh, “The Calling.” that should have been the title.
Should have consulted you first. ;0)
a nice dedication…
Thanks. ;0)
Dear Phyllis,
Such love indeed. This was a classic tale of returning to the sea. I loved it.
Aloha,
Doug
Hi ya Doug,
Glad you liked it.
I bet you get to spend a lot of time on the water.
I love the ocean. Wish I lived near one.
Blessings,
Phyllis
Dear Phyllis,
You couldn’t have dedicated a more perfect story to me. BTW, my husband goes by Jan.
I relate so well to the freedom she feels in the water. For nowhere do I feel more alive than when I’m swimming. However my mother wasn’t a mermaid. 😉
Lovely story.
Shalom,
Rochelle
I figure he went by Jan. I didn’t want people to misunderstand, Jan can also be a woman.
So glad you like it.
Blessings,
Phyllis
