Friday Fictioneers: The Walk
It wasn’t the yellow brick road, but a wooden bridge.
It wasn’t the Emerald City at the other end, but a red pyramid.
I was so tired. I just wanted to get away from it all.
All of it was too much, one disaster after another.
So I left. To get away from all of it, including me.
I walked and left everything behind.
My job.
My husband.
Me.
And I walked to the other side.
Once I got there, I realized things were not as bad as I thought. I just needed a new perspective.
I walked back.
The End

Sounds a lot like life … sometimes all that’s needed is a change of view. Good job!
Thank you.
You’re right. Life does tend to dominate.
P.S. Did you mean to misspell Friday Fictioneers in the title? Don’t post this comment, obviously. 🙂
You were so right. Whenever I write late at night or am tired, I do something silly. Thanks of the catch. ;0)
Oh, how well I can relate! lol Last week I posted something by accident that I was planning to work on for months! A late-nighter mistake. Ah, well, it worked out in the end.
It’s nice to know that we’re normal.
And that all works out in the end.
Having understanding blog readers and friends help. ;0)
So true!
a little walk can clear one’s mind as your story has pointed out. thanks for reminding us.
Thanks for liking.
Been there – done this – you are a great writer! Thanks, Nan
Thanks for the compliment.
Hope things worked out for you.
A great take. Greener grass etc…
Thanks. ;0)
A nice, pleasant story with a happy ending. Well thought out and well written.
Thank you.
It just unfolded. I had three bits of ideas, but none of them came to a satisfying ending. When I sat to write, they all come together as one story.
I was a bit surprised.
Sometimes, that’s all we need.
This one was a combination of thoughts that came form different directions and gathered all together in to one story.
