Friday Fictioneer: Technology
“Mom, I can’t find my assignment. I checked twitter, email, facebook, It’s not in the mail either.”
“Would Master Pendgester send your assignment by something as unsecured as the internet or by a delivery service?” Mom asked.
He stared at her blankly.
Wizard Pendgester was right. Technology would be the ruin of the next generation.
“You’re 16. Figure it out.”
“Oh,” he said uncertainly. “But it’s July.”
She handed him the tongs. He ran to the living room.
Even without fuel, there was a fire in the fireplace. In the center of the flame, slowly rotating, was his assignment.
The End

Well done. I could never do this kind of thing. I do admire those that can Phyllis !!
Do you mean write short stories?
I didn’t think I cold either. But to my amazement I can and it’s fun.
Never forget you are an amazing photographer and artist. ;0)
Yes you can write is an understatement! ♥
Thank you 🙂
Thanks, sweetly. ;0)
For me, this is one of the best stories for the prompt!
Cheers,
Ankush,

Well than you very much. ;0)
Technology’s out, magic’s the next thing! Very imaginative take on the prompt 🙂
I like that. “Technology’s out, magic’s the next thing! ”
I have a plot about the battle between technology and magic. Haven’t gotten around to writing it yet.
Really enjoyed this story. Love a bit of magic.
Thanks ;0)
Delightful flash fiction piece that sends a wonderful message. Great fun to read!
Glad you liked. ;0)
Great tale! I think it’s neat that magic is the new wave of communication! Why is his paper if the fire? I guess he sent it to the Professor by Smoke Signals (hardy har har)
Nan 🙂
Fire is the message sender. His homework came through the fire to him.
Thanks for reading and commenting. :0)
Phyllis, That’s better than an email or fax, and more economical too. If it needed security, I wonder what the homework involved? Good creative story, and well written. 🙂 —Susan
Thanks. It was a fun piece.
Homework was a magical formula the student needed to learn.
A lovely tale of magic.
Thanks. ;0)
Very imaginative take on the prompt, I like it so much.
Thank you. It was fun to write.
I thought it was the dog eating the assignment..
Nope it was one none-thinking teenager.
Thank God for Moms.
