Friday Fictioneer: The Stairs
Last time I stood here, I was 17. Mom tried to tell me, but I wouldn’t listen. I wanted my own life, my own adventures. So she left without me and I set out on my own.
At 25, I’m back. I realize Mom was right. Reality is far better than fantasy.
I started up the stairs. On the third step, the grass disappeared and the stone turned to marble.
On the fifth step, the castle came into view. My castle, where I will rule. I can only hope I’m a better person now than I was at 17.
The End

Dear Phyllis,
Some people take longer than eight years to realize Mom was right. Nice little fantasy.
Shalom,
Rochelle
Dear Rochelle,
You’re right. But some figure it out sooner.
Hopefully your children know how great you are.
Thanks for the like.
Blessings,
Phyllis
A nice idea: fantasy or reality – which is which? Most enjoyable story.
Thanks.
Any yes you got the point. Which is which?
I LOVED it! Well done!
I love the story and how it works with the picture. Looking forward to your book!
Thanks.
And as of right now, mailing is still on.
Ah.. indeed I think we followed similar paths in our tales.. Yours carried to a better place though…
Thanks because I can’t tell which is reality real. ;0)
Dear Phyllis, Great story – sorry this is late, we’ve been sick with the suburbanflu. Nan 🙂
Thanks for the like.
I hate to be sick. So sorry you’ve been sick. Such a bother and wast of time and energy, not to mention you feel terrible.
I’ve been off with tennis elbow. Getting better can do little things. I’m now using me dictation. Love it. ;0)
