“What happened?” Carl frantically asked.

“Stove,” Lilly said. “I set the timer and took a nap.”

“You all right?”

She nodded. “Should be easy to move now.”

Carl looked at her skeptically.

She shrugged. “I mean we’ve lost everything. Nothing to move.”

“As long as you’re OK, that’s what maters.”


“What’s that supposed to mean?”

“You didn’t care if I was safe in this neighborhood, in that place.”

“It was cheap and convenient.”

“Well it’s going to be a lot more expensive to move now. We have to buy everything.” She smirked.

“Ah shit, you burned down the place.”
