Mondays Finish the Story: Little Miss Adventurous
I clearly remember my 10th birthday. That was the day I announced to my father that I wanted to fly his plane.
He caught me trying to fly it. I would have flown it then, if I could have reached the pedals.
Dad was furious. “You’re not flying!”
I thought he was upset over the plane.
“I can buy another plane,” he said. “I can’t make another you.”
Then he exhaled noisily. I think he knew what he was in for.
I never did fly his plane.
I did learn to fly over stairs with my skateboard. I flew down the slopes on my snowboard. By the time I was in my twenties, I was drag racing.
I graduated with a masters in astrophysics.
Dad let out a sigh of relief when I got married. He thought I was finally settling down.
He should have known better.
My husband and I got married so we’d be the first married couple on the Mars Colony.

Great story and I loved the twist at the end! 🙂
I was gong to have a sweeter ending, but a more adventurous ending felt better.
You did good. 🙂
Thanks. ;0)
Nicely done Phyllis! I like that they will be the first married couple on Mars. Thanks for writing again for the Mondays Finish the Story challenge and be well… ^..^

Looks like she found the right man to marry. Quite an adventuress. Well done, Phyllis. 🙂 — Suzanne
Thank you, Suzanne. He’ll have to be the right man, since there will be few to chose from where’s she’s going.
