Friday Fictioneer: Rainstorm

This rainstorm was special. rainy-night

“Let’s go for a walk,” she said.

“Rather not.”

“Think you might melt?”

Ralph was a great guy, but there was a bit of sour she’d like to  wash away.

She was right. A walk in the rain washed Ralph’s saltiness out of him.

But that same rain washed away her sweetness.

Without the spice of sweet and sour; salt and pepper; the occasional disagreements and the making up, they became mundane.

Life drifted by without them noticing.

Moral of the story: Love the one you’re with not the one you wish they’d become.

The End
