The Lab

“Where have you been?”126-10-october-18th-2015

“Painting the house,” he said, with a mocking tone.

“Which house?”

“The one with the Labrador in the front yard. What’s your problem?” He took a swig of his bear.

“The problem is you never listen.” She spoke each word louder than the first.

He muted the game and turned to look at her. “Yes I do. You said paint the house with the . . . Oh yeah, here’s how well I listen . . . You said the dog was gray, but I didn’t correct you, because there are no gray Labradors. They’re black.” He smiled triumphantly.

“Was the black Lab alive?”

“Well yeah.”

“Well the lady of the house you painted called to thank us for the free paint job and the lady with the gray Labrador statue called to ask when we were going to paint her house.”
