Friday Fictioneers: The Dream
A rogue wave rose up out of the ocean and swept her out to sea as if she were a grain
of sand. It pulled her down to the ocean bottom.
Her breath was force out, but when she took a breath she discovered she was breathing underwater.
She began to swim with the tail of a fish. She was really a mermaid.
A seaweed wrapped around her tail. She thrashed to break free only to drown in the effort.
She woke wrapped in her bed sheets, soak in sweat.
Too many oysters will get you every time.
Friday Fictioneers is a challenge to write a 100 word story from a picture prompt. It’s hosted by Rochelle Wisoff-Fields, anyone can play.
