Friday Fictioneer: Funny

“AAAAAAAA!” Jenny wailed. trg1

My husband laughed.

I gave him the evil eye.

He thought Jenny’s over exaggerated emotions were funny, but he was rarely home thanks to his business.

“I’m sorry,” he said. “I know it’s not funny, it’s just . . .” He couldn’t keep a straight face. “Look at her.”

Someone had picked Jenny’s daffodil. She was broken hearted. Her father thought it funny.

“Keys.”

He dropped the car keys in my hand.

“Where are you going?” he asked.

“Out. Today she’s your problem.”

“But . . .” The look of terror on his face—that was funny.

The End
