Novella not Novela
I was telling a girlfriend that I was about to publish my next book, My Haunted Bed & Breakfast.
“It’s a novella, “I said.
She immediately proceeded to tell me about a Spanish soap opera she was watching.
I was confused as to why she was telling me about the show.
She thought I was writing a soap opera.
“No,” I said. “I’m writing a short novel.”
That’s when she told me Spanish soap operas are called novelas.
So I looked it up. Spanish soap operas are called telenovelas.
Novela with one l is a Spanish soap opera.
Novella with two ls is a short novel.
A novel is between 40,000 to 100,000 words.
A novella is between 17,500 to 40,000 words.
My novella is 20,000 words. It’s a light hearted fantasy that can be read in an afternoon.
The story is about:
Eleanor Rune’s life stopped. It was time to start over. She never expected to be recused by a hunted house.
My Haunted Bed & Breakfast will soon be ready for presell on Amazon and a GoodReads Give away.
