Friday Fictioneer: Sleepy Town

PHOTO PROMPT © Ted Strutz
“Hey, Old Man, haven’t seen you in a while.”
The old man scratched his head.
“You look confused, something wrong?”
“Well, it’s just that I don’t remember any of this. I remember a quiet beach, trees and sunset.”
“The town has been here for quite awhile.”
“Last I remember is coming here with my dragon, watching the sun set and taking a nap.”
“That must have been before the town was built, some fifty years ago.”
“50 years . . . hum.”
“It’s been about 50 years since I last saw you. What have you been up to?”
“Evidently sleeping,” the wizard said.

It’s like Rip Van Winkle meets an old timey fairy tale.?
You’ve got it. ;0)
Sleeping beauty/ Pete … from Pete’s dragon. Wakes up years later in another fairy tale. Nicely done.
There’s awful lot of sleeping going on.
So I believe .
Dear Phyllis,
The last line made me chuckle.
Shalom,
Rochelle
PS I believe you mean “I remember a QUIET beach…” rather than a ‘quite beach’
“e” don’t stay in place.
There’s nothing like a nice long nap to really leave you confused when you wake up 🙂
I know. I just did it today. I woke up and though, “I slept thought church.” But it was 3 in the afternoon. And I remembered I not only went to church, I went to lunch with friends.
Those wizards… no alarm clock, evidently!
Fun take, Phyllis.
Thanks, Dale. ;0)
Your story takes the tendency of an elderly person to fall asleep unexpectedly to a whole new level!
;0) I try.
Oh yes… Rip van Winkle comes in many ways… and why not with a dragon?
Why not? ;0)
