Friday Fictioneers: Walk Along the Beach
“Maaa… my clients are buddies of Pa,” Kayla laughed.
Ma angrily confronted Pa. He sore, “Didn’t know.
If he had known, he would have stopped it. Ma was the only one Pa was afraid of.
Two of his buddies disappeared. Never did find the bodies.
The rest of Kayla’s clients stopped coming around.
Kayla was furious; no more drugs.
No one would help her get out of town; too afraid of Pa, but more so of Ma’s temper.
Now Kayla walks the beaches sober and clear headed.
Once again, Ma got what she wanted.
This time, Kayla didn’t mind.
