One Park at a Time: Battle Creek
This park is about 20 miles from home. I don’t get to it very often. When I’m in the area, I’m usually visiting a friend who is not interested in biking or hiking. Sometimes when I visit her, I plan to include Battle Creek. Today is one of those days.
Mostly I’ve walked or hiked the park, but today will be my first bike ride.
Battle Creek Regional Park is connected to a chain of parks along the Mississippi River. It spreads out for several acres as is a busy park with an aquatic center, pavilion, playground, off-leash dog area & paved trails.
I’ve been to this hill a number of times and have hiked up and over it.
On the way up, the hill looks over an interstate and railroad yard . . .
and the small forest in Rice Creek.
I walked up these stairs just before spring.
This trip was in the fall.
Because of the length of this post, I’ll post about the bike ride later.
