2020 Goals

I’m a goal setter. When I don’t have a goal in mind, I become disorientated. Unfortunately, some goals take longer than others. That’s not a free tick to quit. It means goals need to be readjusted.
I planned to publish the third novel in People of Akiane Trilogy, Jessica’s Mission, in June 2016. But I was also battling a long time illness, which waylaid my writing. Healing took longer than I expected, so did the book.
Giving up was not an option. I kept resetting the goals. Each time I got closer to accomplishing my goals.
2019’s goal was to finish the novel and be healed.
I am well on my way to being healthy. You can read about it Health Update.
Most importantly, I finished my 3rd novel on Christmas morning 2019. Yeah!
It’s not ready for publication just yet, but the story is finished and will be handed over to my editor January 2, 2020. She’ll give it back to me with suggestions for improving the story.
Once finished, the final proofing begins.
2020’s goals are to publish Jessica’s Mission and to be completely healed.
I have only one goal for January 2020: I am not allowed to work or looked at my manuscript!
For this month, I’m going to read at least one novel that is not mine.
I started Carol Berg’s The Spirit Lens years ago, but have not had the energy to finish it. I plan to finish it this month. I’ve already read three chapters. I’m almost a third of the way through. Ha.
I picked the above picture because I’ve spent a good amount of time at home recovering from Adrenal Fatigue and when I had the energy, I was sitting at my computer writing. When I didn’t have the energy I was stuck on my couch watching TV or sleeping.
In 2020, I’m venturing out and away from home. I have plans to publish Jessica’s Mission and I will be venturing into my next project The Destiny Series.
Congrats on getting that latest book to the editor – woo hoo and happy new year
Thanks, Prior, Happy New Year to you too.
😊
I’ve been enjoying reading and I’m over a third into the book. But I realized I have to find a nice relaxing place to sit so I can read.
I’ve spent so much time resting in an effort to reset my hormones, I’m having trouble sitting down long enough to read more than a chapter at a time.
It may take longer to read my book than I thought.
I love your January 2020 goal and am curious to know how well you achieved it and how the rest of the year is going.
Like you, I am a goal setter. I used to have many ‘resolutions’ but found that I was most successful when I focused on 1 (sailing around the world). Now that I have accomplished that, I have a new one: replenish the cruising kitty.
Ah yes, the kitty fun. If you stay away from the bars . . . that’s might not work.
Good luck on the kitty fun. ;0)
So far I’ve had a few upsets. I had a cold and my computer crashed, but we are both up and running now.
I working on my editor’s rewrites. I had hope to be much father along, oh well.
Good news: I’m finally sleeping through the night and I asleep most nights before midnight. My energy is up and I’m losing weight. I’m down from 188 when I started the healing process and am now at 173. I’ve lost 4 pounds in the last two weeks alone. The better I sleep, the faster I lose weight.
Good news indeed! Heartened to read it upon our arrival to Zihuatanejo
