Friday Fictioneers: Häagen Dazs

PHOTO PROMPT © Na’ama Yehuda
Häagen Dazs, Häagen Dazs. How I love thy. Let me count the ways.
I am forever grateful to the one who invented you.
Maybe not too grateful.
Sad actually.
No, I think upset.
Not with Häagen Dazs, no never with Häagen Dazs.
It’s just that, well, it’s my blood sugar. It doesn’t like Häagen Dazs or ice cream of any kind.
No chocolate of any kind, or cake, or pizza, or coke, or . . .
I’ll eat my carrots and celery latter.
I’m going back to bed.
(Remember, this is fiction.)

Friday Fictioneers is a challenge to write a 100 word story from a photo prompt. It’s hosted by Rochelle Wisoff-Fields, anyone can play. Click HERE to read other Fictioneers’ stories.
Fiction, yes, but pre-diabetic me totally identified with your character. All the things I love. . . .can potentially kill me. SO not fair!
I agree. ;0(
Oh, and there was me saying to Dale that I don’t eat ice-cream… commenting on her response to the same prompt. So, fantasy fiction, photography, and a problem with blood sugar levels. Anything else we share?
I don’t know. We’ll have to get together and see.
Do you travel? I’m guessing there’s an ocean between us.
I love to travel, but not the money to indulge.
I have a desire to see all of my homeland before I venture further (though when younger I travelled abroad).
I feel they same. There is plenty in my home state and America, before venture into the world. Though there are several blog buddies I’d like to meet.
Yea, I know that feeling. Linked by the internet, never to meet. Ho-hum 🙂
We could do facebook phone if you’re interested.
Not on facebook. Sorry
No problem. It was just a suggestion.
Yea. I didn’t mean to be quite so blunt. I was tired, I apologise 🙂
Not to worry. I didn’t take it that way.
Cheers. Smiles back on the menu 🙂
Everything in moderation 😉
Darn.
Funny how that blossomed out and the poof!
Funny. I hadn’t thought about it like that, but yeah.
🙂
Carrots and celery! Yummie!
You say that with a tiny bit chocolate smear you forgot to wipe away.
This would be a very sad thing, indeed…
;0(
Whew … 😉 Good thing it is fiction … 😉
lol ;0)
Dear Phyllis,
It’s a good thing it’s fiction. I’d want to stay in bed, too.
Shalom,
Rochelle
A lovely example of bathos, with genuine humour. I love the gradual subsiding to carrots and celery!
Thank you Penny. It just came out as I kept writing. ;0)
It’s nice when that happens!
Yes it is.
I’m glad that’s only fiction!
Thank you. Though unfortunately, I have cut back to very little while I’m resetting my hormones. It’s for the best and I am getting better and better.
A paragon of virtue. Actually, I can take or leave ice cream. Give me cheese any day.
Ah. Cheese and crackers, a cheese and miracle Whip sandwich, just plan cheese. I understand.
I saw some chocolate carrots the other day – I’ve never enjoyed a vegetable so much!
That does not sound appetizing, but I would certainly try it.
Wonderful ode here.
Thanks. ;0)
Fiction for some, not when I’m meant to be on a carb-free diet. 🙂
Sometimes life’s not fair. ;0(
Well unlike the protagonist in your piece, I’d probably forget about the blood sugar and go for the ice cream.
An adventurous spirit. Besides, you can always be good tomorrow.
