Friday Fictioneers: So . . .?
Don’t mean to be rude. This week’s photo prompt didn’t inspire me. Rochelle’s frog from late week did. I couldn’t get it out of my head so here it is.
She offered to kiss him and make him a prince.
He would be ruler over a kingdom with subjects to obey his every word.
He would have gold and jewels to buy anything he wanted.
He would have an army to lead into battle.
And he would have a castle to live in with servants to tend to his every need.
The frog thought about his pond, his lily pads, the mosquitoes and flies he eats, and said, “No thank you. I like things the way there are.”

I think the frog made the right choice 🙂
Ha Ha So do I ;0)
A Froggy wood a wooing go!!! Hmmm! Hmmm! :-))
Wise frog who chose a simple life over a complex one.
With a couple of our Princes in the news right now and not for the best of reasons, I think it was a wise choice!
Reminds me of stories from Chuang Tzu. The frog knows a good thing when he sees it. How could life be any better? Good one.
I looked up Chuang Tzu. Nice to know my frog is great philosopher.
Yes, but he was an ordinary man first. There are multiple stories in the book with his name on it where the emperor sends somebody to find him to offer him a great position at court. They usually find him fishing, and he always turns them down 🙂
Not so hot on fishing, but sitting by the river is nice.
I think the frog knew a good thing when he had it 🙂
I think you’re correct.
For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?
Ha. Yes indeed. No stress in him.
Of course. He’s a frog. Priorities well planned. Enjoyed it.
;0) Thanks, Bill.
I love this story! I am with the frog on this one. 🙂
