Cee’s B&W Photo Challenge: Things Found on a Farm
This week Cee’s Black & White Photo Challenge topic is Things Found on a Farm.
Usually one would find a hawk on a farm. So imagine my surprise when I came home and saw a hawk sitting on the top of an SUV.
I didn’t have my camera or phone with me. I imagined Cee playfully shaking her finger at me, and scolding, “I told you to keep your camera with you.”
I hurried upstairs to get my camera, even though I knew he would be long gone before I returned. That was my second surprise for the day, he was still there.
So as not to disturb him, I kept my distance and walked all around him while I took pictures.
The sun was almost directly above. He was all shadow when I started, then washed out, but I finally got some good shots.
He patiently waited until I was finished.
I have a frequent visitor to my house. Like you, I never seem to have my phone when he stops by, and I don’t want to miss a second of our visits.
I wrote about a few of our encounters here: https://johawkthewriter.com/2019/09/18/creating-adventures-from-thin-air-daily-quote/
Wow! Lucky you to see this beautiful creature up close. Sadly we don’t have muck hawks left in my country so seeing them soar when I trek the mountains and protected areas always warms my heart
Where do you live?
America has come close to loosing several raptor birds. Now most are making comebacks. They’re great to see.
i’m based in Manila and there are hardly any trees here
I looked Manila up. It’s one large city with 1.3m people. I can’t even imagine. It’s home and I’m sure you love it.
True. Home is home 😊
