The Motorcycle
Granddad willed it to us.
Mom was horrified.
That’s when we knew it was more than a piece of junk.
The metal was corroded and rusted. The seat was brittle and missing bits of leather.
We waited until Mom was inside.
My brother swung his leg over and sat. “Get on,” he ordered.
I willingly obeyed.
He turned the key. The engine roared. The motorcycle changed. The metal turned to gold. The seat became well-oiled leather.
Mom came screaming out of the house demanding we stop.
With a wave and a smile, we disappeared to another world and an amazing adventure.
What a great piece of art and short story! Can I come tooooooooo
I love that bike. I wish I could have one, even if it just sits there and looks great.
Thats exactly what I thought !
