Friday Fictioneer: Don’t Seem Right

PHOTO PROMPT © Ted Strutz
“Impatiens, that is an airplane.”
“Oh, Grandpa.”
“My granddad rode a horse across America.”
“That would take years.”
“Months, not years. He saw the plains, prairies, mountains, and all kinds of wild life.”
“I promised Mom we’d be home by dinner.”
“Breakfast by the Mississippi River. Dinner by the Pacific Ocean. Don’t seen right.”
“But it’s efficient.”
“Granddad lived off the land. Camped under the stars.”
Aaron linked arms with his grandfather. “Come on, Grandpa, you can tell me all about it while we fly over the plains, prairies, mountains, and all kinds of wild life.”
“Don’t seem right.”

Awwww, such a cute story.
Thank you.
He’s right, it just doesn’t seem right… there’s something to be said for taking the long route, the route less traveled, stopping as you will.
Thanks what Mom used to do. It was a vacation on the way to our destination and a different road back for another vacation trip.
Each seem stuck in their own ways but that’s ok….
Yes, it’s call verity, the spice of life. ;0)
Better than all being the same.
Exactly!!!!
Dear Phyllis,
The time’s they’re always a-changing, aren’t they? Love the voices in this piece. They do seem right. 😉
Shalom,
Rochelle
Ha, ha, Rochelle. Cute. ;p)
Blessings,
Phyllis
I loved this, Phyllis. Not all the old folk are open to change, eh?
Maybe because they’re right.
Wouldn’t it be fun to ride across country on a horse — after the butt is no longer sore — and watching the stars at night — then go to my soft hotel bed and cable. It should be a fun trip. Coming?
I’m in!
lol I’m not surprised. I’ll let you know when it’s on.
Rock on, Phyllis!
ah spending time with grandpa – always a good thing THANKS
Didn’t know mine, died when I was young.
But yes, it would be nice. Hopefully you have fond memories.
My husband was voicing similar thoughts as we flew in just a few hours across the Atlantic to visit England. Used to take months, sometimes years, to go so far. Just don’t seem right 🙂
A nice relaxing boat trip across the ocean would be nice. No jet lag here.
Times have changed. One grandad saw American from the back of a horse, another seeing it from the cabin of a plane.
Good point. Thanks for stopping by. ;0)
He’s quite stuck in his ways. Very believable!
Thanks. ;0)
Very sweet story. Aaron is so patient with his grandfather who is a frequent visitor to the past I think. Lovely voices!
Thank you. Nice comment.
Very sweet.
Thank you.
Nice story about the gap there often is between generations. Aaron is a sweet character!
Thank you. He tries. ;0)
Don’t seem right – is an understatement- Each generation learns from the previous – and so on until you get to the NON BELIEVERS – Love this!
Like your summery. Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it. ;0)
