Sunday Tree: Fall Colors
Sunday Trees is hosted by Becca Givens and is all about the beauty of trees.
I not sure if this is a bush or a twig of a tree. Either way, it’s welcoming fall with its slender.

Is that dogwood? Colours up purple, has black berries. It’s one of my favourites, early autumn colour challenged only by spindle, which turns later
I saw white berries nearby, but I think that was a different plant.
You certainly know your plants.
I have a couple of friends who like you can name just about ever plant we see when we go walking.
I think there’s a form of dogwood with white berries.
It;s been with me since forever. As a kid I had all the flower fairy books. From those I learned a lot of the names. As I grew into teen years my interest became my scientific, and I had a proper flora, with a proper key. My present field guide hasn’t got that. Yet generally I can recognise the families then narrow it down to the species. I come unstuck with it’s a domestic plant. Garden plants are beyond me.
I took a walk around the lake yesterday and looked closer at the plant. I think it is a vine with a trunk like a sapling, but as it grows taller, it clings to trees.
There are trees with black, red, and white berries around the lake too.
You need to tak photos. But even then, I only know our British plants. Though some are found worldwide.
I have photos. I post them in the next day or two for you.
Okay 🙂
I posted berry photos ;0)
Saw. Commented 🙂
